If you read my last blog post (here) you will know I’ve been trying to get back to healthy eating and working out lately. I’ll be honest though, my biggest down fall is the evenings and weekends, especially the latter!
I do tend to have a ‘day off’ on Fridays for want of a better phrase, however this can often lead onto Saturday and consequently Sunday if I’m not careful. Why are the weekends so difficult?!
Instead of overthinking it, I’m just trying to find some healthier alternatives to satisfy my sweet tooth. I’ve recently been loving the new Alpro ice-cream range – particularly the Hazelnut Chocolate flavour. Simply put; it’s fricken delicious!
I don’t feel too guilty having these as a treat, because A. they are so easy to pair with fruit and nuts and B. they make for a surprisingly filling (and satisfying) snack. This in turn means I won’t reach for that ‘share’ bag of sweets (who actually shares these?!)
2 x scoops of Hazelnut Chocolate flavour, handful of chopped almonds and 5 strawberries
It’s also a major plus for me that they are dairy free because if you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know dairy has such a negative impact on my skin!
Alpro Coconut Ice Cream, Dark choc, 500g blueberries, 2 bananas, 3 tbsp poppy seeds
It takes literally no more than ten minutes to make these two yummy options, so I’ve really no excuse!
If you follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (DayDreamerChic), you’ll know I use Alpro products every day. I love their Soya Light and ALL the soya yogurt options (especially Almond flavour – try it!) so I’m really delighted they now have the ice-cream offerings too. All these dairy free options mean my skin will live another day!
If you check out the recipe section on the Alpro website (here) you will find loads of inspiration and ideas. I’m going to try out a few this weekend, so I’ll keep you posted.
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
