I’m really trying to curb my snacking habit lately, which is an ongoing battle if I’m honest. It’s so easy to reach for the chocolate or even a protein bar when feeling peckish. I’m not the biggest fan of protein bars however. A lot of them are high in sugar and quite processed. Going forward I’m going to try and make my own versions where possible.
These bars literally take 10 minutes to make. Perfect if like me, you’re always on the go!
What You Need:
- 1 x Banana
- 1 x Cup of Oats
- 1/2 Scoop of Vanilla Protein **
- 1 x tbsp of Cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 an Apple (optional)
- 1 x tsp of Vanilla Extract
What You Do:
- Preheat your oven to 180
- Dice your apple
- Mash the banana in a bowl
- Add in the above ingredients & mix it all up
- Pop onto a baking tray
- Bake for approx 4 / 5 mins & turn over so both sides bake properly
** My scooper for protein is quite big, so judge it based on your size. Just don’t put too much in or that’s all you’ll taste.
This quick recipe makes 5 / 6 protein bars. I try not to make big batches because I’ll end up eating three in a row. Too much of any food no matter how healthy, isn’t good for us.
I’m currently using My Protein (here) and I’m adding it to healthy recipes where possible. I’m really fussy when it comes to protein as I find a lot are too strong on my stomach and / or taste horrible, but so far so good with this one.
